Printing demos & shop tour | BUiLDiNG CHARACTER

  • Building Character 346 North Queen Street Lancaster, PA, 17603 (map)

When the Lancaster Heritage Center closed in 2009, the Print Shop Museum was offered free space as part of BUiLDiNG CHARACTER, 346 North Queen Street, Lancaster, PA. With the establishment of this new location and a new name, Heritage Press Museum, we can offer the community a place to visit and experience letterpress demonstrations and a tour of a typical working 1915 print shop in downtown Lancaster.

Typically open Thursday - Sunday from Noon until 4:00pm. We are also open for visits until 9:00pm on First Fridays.

We need volunteers at our recreation of a 1920’s era print shop to give demonstrations in letterpress printing and share its rich history. You will also guide visitors in a hands-on experience using a printing press.
